SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER
LOCATION: COLUMBUS, OH (Strongly Preferred; relocation assistance available) or REGIONAL (Home-Based)
ACCOUNTABILITY:
Responsible for assuring projects are executed as specified in the scope of work including providing deliverables on time, tracking performance measures, and ensuring that projects remain within budget. Projects are generally of significant size, scope and/or complexity. Mentor new hires and/or oversees activities of PM I; provide input and leadership for improving PM processes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Serve as primary contact with sponsor, providing deliverables on time and within budget, while optimizing resources across projects and departments.
- Organize and schedule meetings as needed including project team meetings, conference calls with sponsor, investigators’ meetings, etc. and prepare minutes as required.
- Prepare study-related documents as required.
- Develop detailed plans, timelines and resource allocations for assigned projects and monitor performance against expectations and take the lead in problem solving when timelines or budget deviates from the plans.
- Assist in budget preparation of contracts and work orders and assure that all departments understand the responsibilities in study execution and production of deliverables.
- Identify budgeted vs. out-of-scope activities, and ensure that appropriate accounting of hours per project is clearly understood by project team.
- Prepare and review consent forms, as required.
- Collaborate with Clinical Services to determine the frequency of on-site monitoring and ensure adequate and timely assignments of site monitors.
- Review monthly project progress and identify charges to be invoiced to the client.
- Serve in oversight capacity with regard to study drug supplies for clinical program.
- Participate with start-up study activities.
- Act as advisor to others and become actively involved as required to meet schedules or resolve problems.
- Prepare departmental responses to Request for Proposals and present at bid defenses.
- Mentor new hires and less experienced project managers.
- Draft departmental work instructions and take the lead in departmental improvement processes/tools
- Register patients, generate and review Advice Rules, if appropriate.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in nursing, biological science or related field or 3 years as a PM II
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years oncology experience and 5 years project management experience in pharmaceutical or CRO industry
Skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Project and other project tracking software
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Demonstrated success with cross-disciplinary teams
